Title: Coldwater Ride

Distance:
62 miles (~1582ft cumulative climb)

Start Location:
Sparkman Middle
School, 2697 Carters Gin Rd, Toney, AL (Park in Front Parking Lot)

Date & Start Time:
Saturday, Aug 4 at 7:30am

Ride Leader:
Lewis Harmon,

Description: The ride heads to Coldwater valley. The route then continues through Taft, TN & travels along scenic roads of north Madison Country before finishing up back at Sparkman Middle School. There are several hills/rollers with a cumulative climb of ~1582 ft but NO major climb.  There is an ascent of 275ft over a distance of 5mi starting at mile 36. Due to the terrain, I expect the average pace to be between 16+- mph, slower up hill and faster down hill.

Rest Stops: @ 15.2, 28.4 & 41.0 miles, Optional stop at Liberty gas station at 54.5.

The route can easily be shortened by going straight on Jeff Rd back to the school (don’t turn left on Will Raby Rd).

Route and cue sheet can be found at the following webpage: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/13054476

Each participant is expected to bring a cue sheet and/or map, and or loaded Garmin and have the phone number of the Ride Leader as well as the phone number of at least one friend.

This is a moderate ride with hills/rollers so be sure you can do the stated distance and pace. We will regroup at the rest stops & at major intersections. If individuals ride faster than the specified pace or deviate from the route then they are on their own.
