Andrew Baldes Memorial Fix-it Station Fund-raiser
It was sad to hear that Andrew Baldes had passed this past October. Those of you who knew Andy when he and Amelia Baldwin lived in Huntsville, or may have stayed acquainted with them in the years since, may want to contribute to the SCCC effort to create a bike-related memorial to him. Andy raced bikes while his wife, Amelia, was a USAC official and officiated many SCCC races in Huntsville.
They have been living in the Orange Beach/Mobile area for the past 5-6 years. Amelia has a condo on the beach at Orange Beach and she and Andy enjoyed the great paved biked trails in the Gulf State Park. I know many folks from all over Alabama, including some from the SCCC, also enjoy the bike trails at the Gulf State Park.
So, the proposal is to purchase a Bike Fix-it stand to be installed in the Gulf State Park, similar to the couple the SCCC has purchased for the City of Huntsville, purchased with SCCC community grant funds.
This fund-raising event provides a means for folks to contribute (register) to this fund.
