Title: Modified Bugtussle Boogie Ride

Distance: 43 miles

Start Location: First Baptist Church of Taft, 1377 Ardmore Hwy (church parking lot), Taft, TN

Date and Start Time: Saturday, 29 Jul @ 7:30 AM (wheels rolling)

Ride Leader: Hunter Chockley, chockleyj@bellsouth.net , 256 527-8643

Description: This moderate ride will be a modified version of the classic Bugtussle Boogie. This version is an out and back ride of 43 miles. It is a BEAUTIFUL ride that goes through farmlands, lots of wooded areas and has lots of rolling hills on back roads. Some roads are rough and some descents are relatively fast with curves. Caution is key word. The average pace will be 14-15 mph and it has lots of rollers and a cumulative climb of ~1900 ft (a Garmin shows 2300 ft of climbing).

NOTE: At ~Mile 40 there is a 3 mile climb back to Taft (not steep just long).

There is one Rest Stop at the POPULAR Rustic Delina Crossroads Market (“Somewhere in the Middle of No Where”) @ ~mile 21. For cue sheet and map, please go to: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12350847 . This route is listed on the SCCC RWGPS Club Account.

Saturday looks to be a good day for cycling!!

Bring a cue sheet and/or a map and/or a Garmin. Also, have the phone number of the Ride Leader and the phone number of at least one friend.

Again, this is a moderate ride with plenty rollers so be sure you can do the stated average pace for the stated miles. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the stated pace or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.
