Title: Cotaco-Eva-Oden Ridge 56 Miler

Distance: 56 miles

Start Location: 100 Cotaco School Rd, Somerville, AL

Date & Time: Saturday, 3/31/18 @ 8:30 AM CT

Ride Leader: Dale Stinson, 4dalestinson@gmail.com, 256-361-5398 (cell)
Ride Leader: Dennis Bulgatz  (17-18 mph avg)
Ride Leader: Steve & Susan Solomon

Description: This is a moderate ride of 56 miles. This ride does have a couple of significant (by some standards) climbs. Most everyone reading this can handle the two climbs.  :) The total elevation is around 2900 ft. There will be at least two pace groups. Dennis Bulgatz will lead the 17-18 MPH group (overall average).
Myself and the awesome Solomons may team up and lead the 15-16 MPH group (overall average). We will regroup after the two climbs.

There is a descent with a sharp switchback at mile 39.5. Please stay aware.

This route link is posted on the SCCC RWGPS Club Account.

Rest stop #1 at mile 24.3, which is my parents' house and you do not want to miss this one. There will be restrooms, water, and eats (bananas, peanut butter, bread, etc...).

Rest stop #2 @ mile 37.3 - after the big climb - is a convenience store.

Optional rest stop #3 @ mile 46.9 is a convenience store.

The current forecast looks perfect for a day in the saddle! It could be in the 60's a lot of our ride.

Everyone is expected to ride as a group. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the leader or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.

Bring a cue sheet and/or a map to the ride and also have the phone number of the Ride Leader and the phone number of at least one friend.

This is a beautiful route. Please make sure that you can do the stated pace and distance.
