Description: This is a scenic ride of 53 miles with lots of climbing hills/rollers (cumulative climb 2630 ft). I expect the overall average pace to be 16-19 mph. This means on the flats we will be riding at ~18 mph (of course slower on the climbs and faster on the descents). We will regroup at the tops of climbs, after fast descents, and at major intersections.
Group Rest Stop ~30 minutes: Lynchburg square

Optional Return Route for 100 km (adds 10 miles for a total of 63 miles). The first 25 miles into Lynchburg are the same for both rides but this longer route has a significant climb (Herman’s Hill) and a Jaunt over to Petersburg, TN on the return leg.
Distance: 100 km (63 miles)
Petersberg option Ride Leader: Steve Solomon, email: ssssolomon@comcast.net Phone: 256 468 0144 (Call or Text)
Description: Fayetteville - Lynchburg - Petersburg – Fayetteville
Rest Stops: Same as above in Lynchburg and Diner in Petersburg

Note:
This is a challenging ride with climbing, and rollers, so be sure you can do the stated average pace over the distance. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the leader or deviate from the route then you are on your own.

This ride is to honor the memory of local cyclist Chip Moore, Cancer Fighter, who used to lead this ride for SCCC. We lost Chip to cancer this year. No fees for this ride, but if you are 50 years or older please consider getting a colonoscopy. Also, if you want to donate to Russell Cancer Institute I will be glad to take a check and send to Russell to aid cancer research on Chip's behalf too. Thanks! Steve
